Mahindra has Launched its Flagship SUV Alturas G4 (Ssangyong Rexton) against ford endeavor and Toyota Fortuner in India. Premium Suv segment is growing very well in India and Mahindra is also participating in this race with its new flagship Alturas G4.

In profile, it looks like a mini Landcruiser thanks to the squared off wheel arches and the large 18-inch alloy wheels look nice.

As soon as you open the door, you come across a massive surprise. It is not something that you expect from a Mahindra Car. The lower part of the dashboard comes fished in leather, However, the finish could have been better in some places. You get a high-quality wood trim inside the car too. However, getting inside is a bit difficult as there is no step to climb into. The car also comes with ventilated seats, which is a first in the class feature. there are clever storage spaces in this car. The second-row space is decent but 3rd-row space is not good. Passengers out there will get out of the car so that they would rather walk.

unlike its competition, the Alturas G4 is powered by a smaller 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine (Endeavour has a bigger 3.2-liter option while the Fortuner’s diesel displaces 2.8-liter). This premium SUV is very easy to drive and gear shift are buttery smooth. People are admiring its chassis responsiveness and its refined engine. If you are a keen driver then it is the machine you should go for. Many other SUV in this price range are Ford Endeavour(26.3 to 32.8 lakh INR Ex-Showroom price ) and Toyota Fortuner(Price Start from 27.22 lakh to 32.9 lakh INR EX-Showroom).

Still, seeing as Mahindra has priced the Alturas quite well (starting at Rs 26.95 lakh and going up to Rs 29.95 lakh), it does have what it takes to give the competition a good fight. Make no mistake, this new Alturas (Rexton) is a big step up on the earlier car.

Verdict ➤

The Mahindra Alturas G4 is positioned above the XUV500 and boasts of a very premium appeal thanks to its rich interiors and amount of features it comes with. The performance from the 2.2-liter engine is also good and the SUV lacks in the handling department. The ride quality is also not very plush. However, at this price point, the Alturas G4 is definitely an option that one should consider in this segment.

Should I Buy Mahindra Alturas G4?

If you are in the automobile market for a Premium SUV with good features, spacious interiors, and decent driving feel, the Mahindra Alturas g4 has a lot more than that. It is attractive, it is light and easy to drive in all driving conditions, and it’s even well equipped. It even gets some Safety features like the nine airbags, ventilated front seats, seat memory for the driver, electronic parking brake, and 360-degree camera.
