Mahindra has launched the updated Thar OG in India with prices starting at Rs 10.32 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is available in three variants — AXT, LXT and ZXT — with multiple petrol and diesel powertrain options.
The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The LXT petrol MT 4x4 costs Rs 15.60 lakh, while the automatic version is priced at Rs 14.77 lakh for 4x2 and Rs 17.23 lakh for 4x4. The ZXT petrol starts at Rs 16.09 lakh for the 4x2 automatic and goes up to Rs 17.45 lakh for the 4x4 automatic.
The larger 2.2-litre diesel engine gets both rear-wheel-drive and 4x4 options. The LXT starts at Rs 16.43 lakh for the 4x4 manual, while the 4x2 automatic costs Rs 16.49 lakh. The LXT 4x4 automatic is priced at Rs 18 lakh.
At the top of the range, the Thar OG ZXT 2.2-litre diesel 4x4 automatic costs Rs 18.99 lakh, making it the most expensive version in the lineup.
The ZXT 2.2-litre diesel also gets a 4x4 manual option priced at Rs 17.49 lakh, while the 4x2 automatic costs Rs 17.49 lakh.
