A Ferrari owner in China has taken legal action after a group of children damaged his luxury sports car while playing near it. The incident happened in Kunming city, located in China’s Yunnan province.
CCTV footage showed the children sliding on the Ferrari’s glass surface and even hitting the car with bamboo sticks. The owner, who had returned from a business trip, found deep scratches on several parts of the car. The damage included scratches on the hood, roof, side panels, tail lights, and windows. There was also a crack on the front bumper.
Repair Cost
Reports say the repair cost for the damaged Ferrari could reach 100,000 yuan, which is around Rs 95 lakh. However, using aftermarket parts could reduce the cost to around Rs 27.95 lakh.
After discovering the damage, the owner contacted the children’s parents and tried to settle the issue peacefully. He also approached the police, and two rounds of talks were held. But the parents reportedly offered only 5,000 yuan (around Rs 4.75 lakh) as compensation. They also did not make their children apologize.
Unhappy with the offer, the Ferrari owner has now decided to file a civil lawsuit to recover the full repair cost.
The Ferrari 488 GTB is a high-performance sports car powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 661 horsepower. It remains one of Ferrari’s most popular and iconic models.
