Renault Kwid has been launched in India with a fresh 2026 update, bringing small design changes, simpler variants, and revised prices. The new Kwid now starts at Rs 4.53 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.61 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable cars in the country.
Renault has reduced the lineup to just two trims – Evolution and Climber. Both trims are available with Manual and AMT gearbox options. The prices are Rs 4.53 lakh for Evolution Manual, Rs 4.90 lakh for Evolution AMT, Rs 5.15 lakh for Climber Manual, and Rs 5.61 lakh for Climber AMT. Renault is also offering a Rs 15,000 cash benefit on Climber variants, making the effective price even lower.
The company has kept the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is aimed at first-time buyers and people upgrading from two-wheelers. Renault says the Kwid has already crossed 4.5 lakh customers in India since its launch in 2015.
In terms of design, the 2026 Kwid does not get a full facelift. Instead, it gets small changes like a new Renault logo on the front grille, new wheel covers, and a fresh steering wheel inspired by the Renault Kiger. The overall shape and styling remain mostly the same.
The car continues to offer useful features like LED DRLs, halogen headlamps, reverse camera, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, power windows, and a rotary gear selector for automatic versions.
On the practical side, the Kwid offers 184 mm ground clearance and a 279-litre boot, which makes it suitable for city driving and small family trips. Renault has also included 17 standard safety features, adding more value for buyers.
With this update, Renault is trying to make the Kwid simpler and easier to choose, especially for budget-conscious buyers looking for their first car.
