Skoda Epiq Revealed: Most Affordable Electric SUV With 440km Range

Skoda Auto has officially unveiled the production-spec version of the new Epiq electric SUV. The Epiq becomes the brand’s smallest and most affordable EV globally and will sit below the Elroq in Skoda’s growing electric vehicle lineup. The model was first shown as a concept over two years ago and later appeared in a near-production form at the 2025 Munich Motor Show.

The new Epiq is designed for buyers looking for a compact electric SUV with modern technology, practical space and good driving range at a lower price point. It is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ platform, which is specially developed for electric vehicles.

With its fresh design, feature-loaded cabin and multiple battery options, the Epiq is expected to play an important role in expanding Skoda’s EV presence in global markets.

Modern Solid Design Gives The Epiq A Bold Look

Modern Solid Design Gives The Epiq A Bold Look

The Epiq follows Skoda’s latest ‘Modern Solid’ design language. The SUV gets an upright stance with smooth curves and sharp detailing. At the front, there is a large blacked-out grille section along with slim LED daytime running lamps. The main headlamps flow downward into an L-shaped design, giving the SUV a futuristic appearance.

The front bumper gets silver skid plates and multiple slat elements, adding a rugged touch. On the side, the Epiq features body cladding, black roof rails and aerodynamic alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches. The roofline slopes gently towards the rear for a sporty appearance.

At the back, the SUV gets T-shaped LED tail-lamps, a roof spoiler and a bold ‘SKODA’ lettering. Despite being compact, the Epiq has strong road presence thanks to its clean and modern styling.

Dimension-wise, the SUV measures 4,171mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,601mm. Skoda has also focused on efficiency, giving the Epiq a low drag coefficient of 0.275 for better aerodynamics and range.

Cabin Loaded With Premium Features And Practicality

Inside, the Skoda Epiq offers a modern and practical cabin layout. Buyers can choose from different interior themes including grey, mint green and brown depending on the variant. The dashboard is dominated by a large 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system based on Android software.

The SUV also gets a small digital driver display and a two-spoke steering wheel. Unlike many modern cars, Skoda has retained several physical buttons for climate and other controls, making the cabin more user-friendly.

Premium features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and wireless phone charging. Higher variants also offer a 10-speaker Canton sound system, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging functions.

Safety equipment is also impressive for a compact SUV. The Epiq comes with ADAS features, 7 airbags and a 360-degree camera. Practicality remains a key strength, with 475 litres of boot space and an additional 25-litre front trunk.

Two Battery Options With Up To 440km Range

The Skoda Epiq will be available with two battery pack options — 38.5kWh and 55kWh. The SUV will come in three variants named 35, 40 and 55.

The Epiq 35 produces 116hp, while the Epiq 40 generates 135hp. Both versions use the smaller 38.5kWh battery pack and produce 267Nm torque. The top-spec Epiq 55 uses the larger 55kWh battery and delivers 211hp along with 290Nm torque.

All variants feature a front-wheel-drive setup with a single electric motor mounted at the front axle.

For driving range, Skoda claims up to 310km from the smaller battery pack and up to 440km from the larger 55kWh unit. Fast charging capability is another highlight, as the larger battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes using a DC fast charger.

The Epiq shows Skoda’s focus on making electric vehicles more accessible to a wider audience. The SUV combines compact dimensions, practical cabin space and strong battery range, which are important factors for urban buyers and small families.

Its modern design, premium features and competitive EV platform could help the Epiq attract customers who want an affordable electric SUV without compromising on technology and comfort.

Although Skoda has not yet confirmed launch plans for India, the Epiq highlights the direction the company is taking in the global EV market. With rising demand for compact electric SUVs worldwide, the Epiq could become one of Skoda’s most important EVs in the coming years.
