Honda confirmed to launch 6 models in India in FY2026-2027

Honda Cars India is preparing for one of its biggest launch plans in recent years. During the launch of the new Honda City facelift and the India debut of the ZR-V SUV, Honda Cars India CEO Takashi Nakajima confirmed that the company will introduce six new models in India during FY2026-27. The company will mainly focus on hybrid and electric vehicles, along with premium global models.

The newly launched City facelift and ZR-V are already part of these six upcoming launches. Honda also confirmed that its first electric SUV, based on the 0 Alpha concept, will arrive later this financial year. The EV is currently being tested across India and will also be exported to international markets from India.

Honda is also expected to update the Elevate SUV soon to keep it competitive in the fast-growing SUV segment. Apart from India-focused products, Honda is considering bringing back some of its famous global cars like the Civic, Accord and CR-V. These models may come to India as imports or through CKD assembly in limited numbers. The Prelude hybrid sports car is also being evaluated as a halo model for the brand.

The company says India will play an important role in its future plans, especially for hybrid and electric vehicles. Honda may even restart CKD operations at its Greater Noida facility if demand for premium models grows in the future.

Honda has also confirmed plans for a brand-new compact SUV and midsize SUV for the Indian market by 2028.
