Tata Punch EV Facelift Launch on 20 Feb: Features, Range & Price

Tata Motors is moving fast in the Indian car market. After launching the much-awaited Sierra SUV and surprising everyone with the Punch ICE facelift (now with a turbo petrol engine), Tata is ready for its next big launch. The company has officially confirmed that the Tata Punch EV facelift will be launched on February 20, 2026.

Tata Punch EV Facelift Launch on 20 Feb

The current Punch EV is already one of the most feature-rich electric cars in its segment. So the big question is—what more will Tata add to the facelift? Let’s break it down in simple terms.

Price Expectation for Tata Punch EV Facelift

The Punch EV facelift will arrive just weeks after the ICE version got its update. This clearly shows Tata’s focus on strengthening its electric vehicle lineup.

At present, the Tata Punch EV starts at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Smart MR variant with a 25 kWh battery. The top-end model, Empowered+ S LR ACFC, comes with a 35 kWh battery, a 7.2 kW fast AC charger, and is priced at Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom).

With new features and possible mechanical upgrades, a slight price increase is expected for the facelifted version.

Exterior Changes: Subtle But Fresh

Design-wise, Tata is unlikely to make drastic changes. However, the Punch EV facelift may get a slightly refreshed front look to match Tata’s newer EV design language.
  • Redesigned front fascia
  • Closed-off EV-style grille
  • Connected LED DRLs
  • New alloy wheel design
  • Updated front and rear bumpers
The all-four disc brakes offered on long-range variants are expected to continue.

Interior Upgrades

The cabin is where the Punch EV facelift could see major improvements. Tata has already upgraded interiors across its lineup, and the Punch EV is likely next.
  • Larger 12.3-inch floating touchscreen
  • New and more premium dashboard layout
  • Improved seat upholstery
  • Upgraded Harman Kardon sound system
There is also speculation about a panoramic sunroof, though this remains unconfirmed.

ADAS Could Be a Game-Changer

This could be the right time for Tata to introduce Level-2 ADAS in the Punch EV, similar to what is offered in the Nexon EV. Features like lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking would significantly improve safety and value.
If added, this would make the Punch EV one of the most advanced electric cars in its segment.

Bigger Battery, More Range?

Performance upgrades are also expected. Currently, the Punch EV offers a maximum 35 kWh battery with an ARAI-certified range of 421 km.

There is a strong possibility that Tata may introduce a larger 40.5 kWh battery pack, similar to what was done with the Nexon EV after the Curvv EV launch. If this happens, the claimed range could go close to 500 km, making the Punch EV even more attractive for buyers worried about range.

Final Thoughts

The Tata Punch EV facelift looks set to raise the bar in the compact electric SUV segment. With refreshed styling, better interiors, possible ADAS, and a bigger battery, it could become one of the best-value EVs in India.

More official details will be revealed closer to the February 20 launch, but expectations are already high.
