Between July 7 and July 13, 2026, HPCL carried out 2,173 surprise inspections at petrol pumps across the country. These surprise visits were mainly done to check whether the ethanol blending levels in petrol were correct. Along with these checks, the company also conducted 1,385 regular inspections between July 3 and July 13.
HPCL's Quality Assurance Cell, which is responsible for checking fuel quality and preventing adulteration, carried out another 93 surprise inspections during the drive. The company also used mobile testing laboratories to check fuel samples directly at petrol pumps. A total of 49 fuel samples were tested on-site.
After completing all these inspections and tests, HPCL reported that it did not find a single case of fuel adulteration or serious quality issues. The company said the results show that its fuel quality monitoring system is working properly and that customers can trust the fuel being sold at HPCL petrol pumps across India.
