Think electric vehicles don’t last long? This real-life story may completely change your mind. A Xiaomi SU7 Pro electric sedan, owned by a private individual in China, has clocked an astonishing 2.65 lakh kilometres in just 18 months — and its battery health still stands at an impressive 94.5 %.

The car belongs to Mr Feng, who uses the Xiaomi SU7 Pro for daily travel and long-distance driving. On average, he covers nearly 600 km every single day. Recently, a detailed inspection report from a Xiaomi-authorised service centre was shared online, and it quickly grabbed attention across social media.

According to the report, the SU7’s large 94.3 kWh battery has gone through around 500 full charge cycles, yet the degradation is just 5.5 %. Even the owner admitted he expected battery health to drop 90 % by now, but the results surprised him. This highlights how far EV battery technology has come in a short time.

What’s even more impressive is the condition of other components. The brake pads are almost unused due to strong regenerative braking, tyre tread depth is close to that of new tyres, and the cooling system is working perfectly with no contamination. This shows that the car has handled heavy daily usage without major stress.

The owner also shared that smart charging habits, including controlled DC fast charging, helped maintain battery health. Financially, the EV has saved him over 100,000 yuan compared to running a petrol car for the same distance.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun reposted the story, further boosting interest. While results may vary based on driving style and climate, this high-mileage SU7 strongly proves that modern electric cars can be durable, reliable, and cost-effective in the long run.
