Mahindra Last Mile Mobility has launched its new electric three-wheeler, the Udo, in India at an introductory price of Rs 3.59 lakh (ex-showroom), lower than its standard price of Rs 3.84 lakh. Designed to modernize the commercial three-wheeler segment, the Udo stands out with an aircraft-inspired design language and a name derived from the Hindi word meaning “to fly,” symbolizing progress and aspiration.

One of the biggest highlights is its full monocoque construction, claimed to be a first in this category. This structure is expected to improve durability, safety, and ride quality compared to traditional chassis-based autorickshaws. Styled by Pratap Bose and the Mahindra India Design Studio, the vehicle features bold headlamps, a wide windshield, and sleek mirrors that give it a more premium look than typical three-wheelers.

Inside, Mahindra has focused heavily on comfort. The driver gets a thicker “pilot seat,” designed to reduce fatigue during long work hours. Passengers benefit from generous headroom, better legroom, and supportive seating aimed at improving ride comfort. Suspension duties are handled by an independent rear setup and dual-fork front system for better stability on uneven roads.

Mahindra UDO Power & Range

Power comes from an IP67-rated 11.7 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with a PMS motor producing 10 kW peak power and 52 Nm torque. Mahindra claims a real-world range of up to 200 km, while the ARAI-certified range stands at 265 km. The Udo offers Range, Ride, and Race modes, with a top speed of 55 km/h in Race mode.

Additional features include regenerative braking, Hill Hold Assist, creep function for traffic, and a unique reverse throttle for improved control, making it a strong contender in India’s fast-growing electric commercial vehicle market.
